Validity of Meta-Analyses (working title)
23 - 24 August 2025
The 29th JURE 2025 Pre-Conference invites Junior Researchers from around the world to engage in compelling discussions on educational research. JURE 2025 offers early career researchers a first academic conference experience and the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the globe.
The EARLI and JURE 2025 conferences will explore "Realising Potentials through Education: Shaping the Minds and Brains for the Future"
The theme shall inspire interdisciplinary discussions on the multifaceted avenues through which education can contribute to the flourishing of each individual and the society.
Education is envisioned as a transformative force to unlock and realise the potential of every individual, irrespective of personal background or circumstances. Its goal is to empower individuals to discover their strengths and develop talents that positively impact their lives and their communities. This pursuit necessitates equitable educational practices, grounded in current evidence on learning and instruction from various disciplines and across multiple levels of investigation.
The terms 'minds' and 'brains' resonate with this holistic approach and align with the principles of neuroconstructivism. It suggests that the functions and structures of both the mind and the brain are malleable and evolve through complex and dynamic interactions with the environment. These interactions weave together diverse elements of learning, including historical, sociocultural, material, and bodily dimensions.
The high plasticity and experience-dependency of the mind and brain in response to the environment underscore the need for quality education in which learners can acquire those skills they may need for the continued progress of liberal societies in an uncertain future. It also equips individuals with the tools to spearhead innovations and inventions to effectively overcome the global challenges that lie ahead.
Finally, the EARLI and JURE 2025 conferences aim to facilitate an inclusive dialogue among researchers, educators, and policymakers, transcending traditional boundaries and paving the way for novel approaches to positively shape our future.
