Programme


  • All outgoing and new SIG Coordinators are invited to take part in the Biennial SIG Coordinators Meeting, on Monday, August 12th from 08.00 - 09.30. This meeting will take place in the C.A.R.L. building, room H08.

  • The Opening Ceremony of the EARLI 2019 conference will take place in the lecture hall H01 in the C.A.R.L. building on Monday August 12th between 9:45 - 10:30. Join us for the opening of the EARLI conference and useful conference information.

  • Education is more important than ever. The conference theme “Thinking Tomorrow's Education: Learning from the past, in the present and for the future" pushes the evidence-based discussion of ongoing learning forward. In this EARLI panel, the following leading questions are discussed by outstanding representatives of policy-makers and educational scientists.

  • The Doctoral Consortium Lunch meeting is meant for PhD students who are in the final stages of their doctoral studies, or Junior Researchers who have recently earned their doctoral degree. The meeting focuses on sharing information and experiences about the Mentoring Grant. The Doctoral Consortium Lunch meeting will take place on Monday August 12th in the Institute of Education (address: Eilfschornsteinstrasse 7, room 101, at 12:15 - 13:15). Pre-registration is required.

  • EARLI President Sanna Järvelä discusses Researching socially shared regulation in learning. The Presidential Address is followed by the EARLI 2019 Award Ceremony, where the Erik de Corte Award, Outstanding Publication Award and Oeuvre Award are granted.

  • The Opening Ceremony of the EARLI 2019 conference will take place in the Foyer of the C.A.R.L. building on Monday August 12th between 19:00 - 22:00.

Guide for Chairs


For each session at EARLI 2019, chairs are asked to do two key things. Firstly, the chair acts as the Master of Ceremonies for the session, ensuring everyone keeps to the allotted time. Secondly, the chair is an enabler of interaction and discussion, one of the most important aspects of a research conference.

SIG BUSINESS MEETINGS AND DINNERS


All SIG members are invited to join the SIG Business Meetings at the EARLI 2019 Conference.
These will take place on Tuesday the 13th of August at the following times:

17.15 - 18.15: Uneven SIG Business Meetings
18.15 - 19.15: Even SIG Business Meetings

These meetings will also be followed by a SIG Dinner.

MEMBERS' MEETING


All EARLI 2019 delegates are invited to take part in the EARLI Members' Meeting, on Wednesday 14th of August from 17:15 - 18:45 at the C.A.R.L. building, Lecture Hall - H03. This assembly meeting is lead by the current EARLI Executive Committee and EARLI President Sanna Järvelä.

LUNCH WITH PROFESSORS


The Lunch with Professors offers young researchers the opportunity to meet and discuss with experts in their field of research, while enjoying a good lunch and a nice cup of coffee at the same time.

DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM


The doctoral consortium lunch meeting is meant for PhD students who are at the final stages of their doctoral studies, or Junior Researchers who have recently earned their doctoral degree. The meeting focuses on sharing information and experiences about the Mentoring Grant. JURE members can yearly apply for a Mentoring Grant to be used for an international mentoring visit for a period of 2-4 weeks. Everyone interested to hear more about the mentoring grant are welcome to participate!
