RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT FUND

EARLI is delighted to announce a new pilot funding scheme for JURE members. The scheme is intended to provide successful applicants with funding to cover activities and items needed to develop research opportunities amongst JURE members. We hope that these contributions will provide additional support to JURE research, boost the quality of the research as well as further develop research culture broadly within EARLI. We would strongly welcome collaborative projects amongst JURE members or activities that would showcase EARLI to new potential members.

Applications are welcomed until the 14th of May (midnight CEST) via the application form below.

MENTORING GRANT

Each year, five JURE members will be given the opportunity to benefit from an international mentoring visit for a period of 2-4 weeks. The mentor, who is an EARLI member and an experienced scholar in his/her respective field, can provide guidance and support to the doctoral student in a variety of themes. This grant is not intended to finance regular PhD-project activities.

Applications for our 2024 Mentoring Grant have now closed. The next call will be launched in early 2025.

JURE MEMBERSHIP

JURE membership is aimed at master and PhD students, as well as graduates who have received their doctorate within the last three years.

Being a JURE member allows you to take part in the JURE and EARLI Conferences and meet colleagues from all over Europe. EARLI commits itself to offering junior researchers the opportunity to become actively involved in the association, at a strongly reduced fee (€ 40 per calendar year).

JURE CAREER DAY

The annual JURE Career Day offers junior researchers the opportunity to engage with questions about and advice on career building and opportunities beyond your PhD. Through direct, informal interaction with senior researchers as well as a number of workshops focusing on career building and corresponding academic skills, we aim to support junior researchers in their academic endeavours.

JURE REPRODUCIBILITEA

ReproducibiliTea journal clubs help early career researchers build a local community of junior researchers interested in open and reproducible research. It can be very isolating to be one of the few within a research group, or department, that are actively engaged or interested in improving research practices. ReproducibiliTea helps researchers who want to change this.

Join the JURE ReproducibiliTEA journal club and come along for interesting discussions with your peers!

More information about the 2024 activities will be shared early on in the new year.
